THE BIBLE AND HOMOSEXUALS (Lev 18:22)

Int. I remember a few years ago when speaking about this subject, I hedged around the corners because it was too shameful to speak about in public.
But today, it has become such an issue and problem in our country that preachers now have to address the problem with some plain preaching.
1. Hollywood has protrayed Homosexuality and Lesbianism in a sympathic way.
A. LOS ANGELES (BP)--Jimmy Allen, a former president of the Southern Baptist Convention, is scheduled to address the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches' 30th anniversary
"General Conference and World Jubilee" the morning of July 16 in Los Angeles, according to a news release circulated nationally by PRNewswire.
B. Cal Thomas (11/11 World) says the "discovery" of "new evidence" of a "gay gene" was trumpeted on the front page of the Washington Post as a scientific breakthough equivalent to a cure for cancer. The story quotes another "study" by Dean Hamer, a molecular biologist, and fails to mention that his widely trumpeted 1993 "gay gene" study is under investigation for alleged fraud. And neither the Post story nor a long article in the 11-13 USN &WR mention Hamer's homosexuality, which might indicate to some that Hamer has a bias in favor of discovering a biological cause/excuse for homosexual sinful behavior.
2. Sodomy is being introduced to adults and children alike in our public school system.
3. The word 'GAY' is a slang word which homosexuals use to describe themselves.
4. Some cities now have 'GAY PRIDE WEEK."
5. In New York city, you can rent a boy as young as eight years old for $15.00 for acts of Sodomy and Homosexuality.
6. In March of 1992, the Pullen Memorial Baptist church of Raleigh, N. C. approved a marriage union between two Homosexuals.
7. That same month, the Olin T. Binkley Memorial Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, N. C. approved a license of a gay divinity student.
8. The London Sunday Telegraph on June 27, 1976 said that one out of every six priest is homosexual by nature.
The Rev. Peter Elers, a self confessed homosexual, says that in one Church of England theological college, two-thirds of the students are homosexually-oriented.
9. On Sunday, Oct 11, 1987, between two and three hundred thousand homosexuals met in Washington, D. C. to demonstrate and 2000 homosexual couples exchanged vows, along with rings etc. to ridicule heterosexuals.
10. Back in 1991, Magic Johnson admitted to sleeping with hundreds of women from city to city and catching aids from his sexual encounters.
a. Instead of being ashamed, he became a national hero and was placed on the presidents counsel to promote 'SAFE SEX'.
11. I was told several years ago that the schools in Appomattox, Co. are now passing out 'CONDOMS' to promote safe sex.

1. Bill Hybel’s me-ga church is one that many pastor’s are trying to emulate today.
B. New York -- The Empire State Building will go lavender for three days. The skyscraper will be doused in lavender light June 22-24 for the annual Gay and Lesbian Pride March. Lavender symbolizes the gay movement.
1. Now there's a change of heart in response to Mayor David Dinkins' plea to end discrimination.
12. Let us consider this evening what the Bible has to say about Homosexuality, etc.
I. HOMOSEXUALITY IS WICKED AND SINFUL.
A. CONSIDER THE CITIES OF SODOM AND GOMARRAH.
1. (Genesis 13:13) But the men of Sodom <were> wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.
2. Genesis 18:20 “And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; “
3. Genesis 19:4-5 “But before they lay down, the men of the city, <even> the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: {5} And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where <are> the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. “
II. HOMOSEXUALITY IS AN ABOMINATION IN THE SIGHT OF GOD.
A. CONSIDER SOME EXAMPLES:
1. Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it <is> abomination.
2. (Deuteronomy 23:17) “There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.”
3. (1 Kings 14:24) “And there were also sodomites in the land: <and> they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
III. HOMOSEXUALITY IS A CRIME WORTHY OF CAPITAL PUNISHMENT.
A. HOMOSEXUALITY CARRIED THE DEATH PENALTY UNDER THE LAW.
1. (Leviticus 20:3) “And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.“
2. (Romans 1:32) “ ”Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”
IV. HOMOSEXUALITY IS OF THE DEVIL AND SATANIC.
A. GUESS WHO THE REAL TERRORISTS IN AMERICA ARE?
1. An Associated Press article in the August 15th ASBURY PARK PRESS of New Jersey listed the leading serial killers in the United States; research on the five leading U.S. serial killers in the AP article indicated they are all homosexuals.
a. “These five leading serial killers are:
(1) Donald Harvey--37 murders;
(2) John Wayne Gacy--33 murders;
(3) Patrick Wayne Kearney--32 murders;
(4) Dean Corll, Elmer Wayne Henley and David Owen Brooks--27 murders and
(5) Juan Corona--25 murders.
b. And of course, there is Jeffrey Dahmer of Milwaukee; he was implicated in at least 17 murders.
c. This does not mean that all sodomites are serial killers. It does mean that the leading serial killers are sodomites
B. BILL CLINTON AND THE HOMOSEXUALS.
1. In celebration of ììWorld AIDS Day,ìì Mr. Clinton announced a 30% increase in this yearìs AIDS research funding. After the announcement, he went to a ììgay fund raiserìì at the Mayflower Hotel, where 35 homosexual contributors paid $10,000 each for dinner with their man. In case you think Mr. Clinton has been insensitive to his homosexual constituents, here is a National Institutes of Health breakdown, by disease, of research spending per death:
a. $815 per lung cancer death,
b. $1,297 per heart disease death,
c. $2,467 per prostate cancer death,
d. $4,992 per diabetes death,
e. $8,210 per breast cancer death, and
f. $42,000 after Mr. Clintonìs increase).
V. HOMOSEXUALITY IS A FOOLISH THING TO GET INVOLVED WITH.
1. (Judges 19:23) “And the man, the master of the house, went out unto them, and said unto them, Nay, my brethren, <nay>, I pray you, do not <so> wickedly; seeing that this man is come into mine house, do not this folly.”
VI. HOMOSEXUALITY IS CONDEMNED BY GOD ALMIGHTY
1. (1 Kings 14:24) “ And there were also sodomites in the land: <and> they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.”
2. (Colossians 3:4-6) “ When Christ, <who is> our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. {5} Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: {6} For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:“
3. . (2 Peter 2:6) “ And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned <them> with an overthrow, making <them> an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;”
4. (Jude 1:7) “Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”
VII. HOMOSEXUALITY IS TO BE ELIMINATED BY GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, AND NOT TOLERATED OR ENCOURAGED.
1. 1 Kings 15:11-12 And Asa did <that which was> right in the eyes of the LORD, as <did> David his father. {12} And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
2. 1 Kings 22:46 And the remnant of the sodomites, which remained in the days of his father Asa, he took out of the land.
3. 2 Kings 23:7 And he brake down the houses of the sodomites, that <were> by the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the grove.
VIII. HOMOSEXUALITY IS COMMON IN PROUD, PROSPERIOUS, MATERIALISTIC, SELF-SUFFICIENT SOCIETIES.
A. Ezekiel 16:49-50 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. {50} And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw <good>.
B. Ecclesiastes 10:18 “By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.
IX. HOMOSEXUALITY IS PRACTICED BY THOSE THAT HAVE TURNED THEIR BACKS ON GOD.
1. See (Romans 1:24-32)
X. HOMOSEXUALITY IS CHARACTERISTIC OF A SOCIETY IN WHICH THE CREATURE IS WORSHIPPED RATHER THAN THE CREATOR.
A. American has become a man centered society rather than a God centered society.
B. Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
XI. HOMOSEXUALITY IS A SIN THAT KEEPS PEOPLE OUT OF
HEAVEN..
A. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, {10} Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
B. Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are <these>; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, {20} Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, {21} Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told <you> in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
XII. HOMOSEXUALITY IS A SIN FROM WHICH ONE CAN BE
DELIVERED.
1. (1 Corinthians 6:11) “And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”
XIII. THE PRACTICE OF HOMOSEXUALITY IS CONTRARY TO SOUND
DOCTRINE.
A. (1 Timothy 1:9-10) “Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, {10} For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
IX. HOMOSEXUALITY IS ONE OF THE MOST WICKED OF ALL SINS.
1. (1 Cor 6:9-10) "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, {10} Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom[2] of God."
2. (Gal. 5:19-21) “The seventeen works of the flesh are listed here.”
3. Revelation 22:15 “For without <are> dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.”
XV. HOMOSEXUALITY IS FORNICATION.
A. (Matthew 15:19) “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
B. (Ephesians 5:3) “ But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;”
XVI. HOMOSEXUALITY IS BASED ON A SELFISH MISUNDERSTANDING
OF SEX.
A. It is a sin and not a 'LIFE STYLE' as they say.
1. (1 Corinthians 7:2) “ Nevertheless, <to avoid> fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.”
XVII. HOMOSEXUALITY CAN BE OVERCOME THROUGH SALVATION AND A BIBLICAL MARITAL RELATIONSHIP.
A. PAUL SAID TO THE CORINTHIANS....
1. (1 Cor 7:2-5) "Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. {3} Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. {4} The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. {5} Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency."
XVIII. HOMOSEXUALITY IS THE RESULT OF UNREPENTED DEPRAVITY.
A. Matthew 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
XVIX. HOMOSEXUALITY DISHONORS THE HUMAN BODY.
A. 1 Corinthians 6:13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body <is> not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
XX. HOMOSEXUALITY IS TO BE AVOIDED AT ALL COST.
A. (1 Corinthians 6:18) “ Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. “
B. (1 Corinthians 10:8) “Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.”
C. (Ephesians 5:3) “But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; “
XXI. HOMOSEXUALITY IS UNSEEMLY OR IMPROPER.
A. (Romans 1:27) “And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.”
1. “Unseemly” Greek means = “Indecent or shameful”
XXII. HOMOSEXUALITY IS AGAINST NATURE AND IS VILE.
A. Romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
1. “Vile” Greek means =”Disgraceful, shameful, or reproachful”
XXIII. HOMOSEXUALITY IS UNCLEAN AND DISHONORABLE.
A. Romans 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
1. “Uncleanness” Greek means “Impure”
CONCLUSION: Hebrews 13:4 “Marriage <is> honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.”
